30 And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with which you were marked with a seal for the day of redemption.(A) 31 Put away from you all bitterness and wrath and anger and wrangling and slander, together with all malice.(B) 32 Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ has forgiven you.[a](C) Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children,(D) and walk in love, as Christ loved us[b] and gave himself up for us, a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.(E)

30 Don't make God's Spirit sad. The Spirit makes you sure that someday you will be free from your sins.

31 Stop being bitter and angry and mad at others. Don't yell at one another or curse each other or ever be rude. 32 (A) Instead, be kind and merciful, and forgive others, just as God forgave you because of Christ.

Do as God does. After all, you are his dear children. (B) Let love be your guide. Christ loved us[a] and offered his life for us as a sacrifice that pleases God.
